Local Fun

Amani is one of the few tea-producing areas of Tanzania with a very well-balanced ratio and share between farming and conservation. It boasts some of the best rainforests, climate, endemic species, and biking trails to suit all styles, ages, and levels. Bikes are available for hire!

There are several hikes available, such as Kwamkoro Tea Estate, Mbomole Hill, Derema Waterfalls, the Butterfly project, and our famous Chameleon/Tree Frog night walk. Maps are available at reception.

There are endemic and endangered plants; more than 340 bird species, including a few endemics; and 74 genera of animals, which include reptiles, mammals, amphibians, and mollusks.
